Governor Kathy Hochul announced a plan that is expected to generate enough clean electricity per year to power nearly 700,000 additional New York homes, including those in disadvantaged communities.

Brooklyn Public Library Coney Island Branch recently completed a solar plus storage project that consists of 21kW of roof mounted solar PV + 19 kWh SimpliPhi BOSS.6 energy storage system that meets the New York City limit of 20kWh. 

The facility will be expanded to process 35,000 tons of “black mass” annually, enough material for 225,000 electric vehicles. 

Strata Grid DERMS technology allows large-scale producers of renewable energy resources to connect to the electric power grid while removing the risk of costly upgrades.

Beam Global installed the stations which are pre-constructed for rapid installation.

The combined company will manage more than 130 MW of community solar and virtual net metered renewable energy projects.

The projects are expected to reduce the city’s fossil fuel use for electricity by more than 80% by 2030.

The trackers were selected in a partnership with Eco Engineering, LightEdison, and Source Renewables for their resilience under upstate New York’s extreme weather conditions.

Also starting up: a company designing standardized PV systems for freight trains and trucks joins an accelerator, and an EV maker forms a strategic partnership to recycle batteries.

Amp Energy is developing five separate solar power generation systems at four project sites in central New York State.
