Waste heat is not cool, say scientists

“Unlimited” capacity hydrogen storage facility developing in Utah

An MOU was signed by Mitsubishi and Magnum Developers in Utah to develop a 1,000 MW power facility at underground salt caverns in Utah that can be used to store renewable hydrogen and compressed air, while also deploying flow batteries and solid oxide fuel cells at the site.

Facebook drives two big solar projects in Texas and Utah

Construction is starting on a 300 MWac solar project in Texas, as a power contract is signed for a 122 MWac solar project in Utah. The social media giant is involved in both, and both use First Solar PV modules.

Navajo Nation bill would replace 2.25 GW of coal with renewables

The bill would create a task force to recommend replacement revenue sources by June 7. Transmission lines serving the Arizona coal plant could support gigawatts of solar or solar-plus-storage.
