Solar PV installer to be fastest-growing job in 2018-28 – a new report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that over the next decade, solar PV installer will become the fastest-growing job. The job is expected to grow 63% over that time period, beating out wind turbine technician, which came in second place with a 56.9% increase expected. In explanation, BLS attributes the growth to “advances in, and implementation of, renewable energy technologies.” For context there are an estimated 9,800 solar installer jobs currently, so the expectation is an addition of 6,100 jobs for a total of 15,900.
