Sterling & Wilson Solar Solutions Inc. (SWSS) has announced its presence in the U.S. market with a 50 MW solar development portfolio. With the U.S. utility-scale market having 60 GW of projects in development in the run up to 2020, they appear to be getting in on a rising wave of action.
The Dubai-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor has commissioned 2.1 GW of solar power globally, and has another 2.5 GW of solar power under development and construction.
Recent projects headlines include Zambia’s soon to be largest solar power plant at 54 MW, and a 170 MW plant in Morocco. However – those pale compared to them company winning development rights to the 1.17 GW solar project in Abu Dhabi last year.
The company coupled their grand opening by announcing that they’ve got 50MW of utility-scale projects signed as a solar EPC and/or with co-development services in the U.S.
The company’s offerings include:
project development support, design and engineering, supply chain management, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance for utility-scale project developers, independent power producers and utility customers.
Sterling and Wilson notes a significant focus on solar plus energy storage, but also wind and broader renewables as well.
The IHS Markit Q1 2018 Solar EPC & O&M Tracker report recognized that the company had become the world’s second-largest solar EPC.
