Solar goes Major League in San Diego

Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, has partnered with Sullivan Solar to install a 336 kW PV system this year.

According to Sullivan, the installation will be the largest in Major League Baseball and will save the team $4 million over the lifetime of the system.

The Top 5 MLB stadiums by solar power are AT&T Park (San Francisco Giants), Chase Field (Arizona Diamondbacks), Safeco Field (Seattle Mariners), Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City Royals) and Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals).

Work on the 716-module project has already begun, and officials say it will be completed by March 29, when the Padres host their home opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.
