High efficiency solar module upgrades from REC and Trina

REC Group has begun production of its residential N-Peak Black series, reaching up to 325 watts. Concurrently, Trina Solar has released four new modules within its Tallmax, Duomax, Duomax Twin, and Honey series – some of which reach up to 415 watts.

Iowa Senate approves new solar fees

Deeming solar owners to be leeching off of existing utility infrastructure, the Iowa Senate has passed a bill which would allow utilities to establish a monthly charge on PV system owners.

Recurrent Energy to build at least 1.2 GW of U.S. solar by the end of 2021

The company has six large projects underway in California and Texas and one more pending in Mississippi, but nothing big coming online in 2019.

Maryland Senate passes solar-powered renewable energy mandate

The 50% by 2030 mandate would include a provision that utilities source at least 14.5% of their power from solar, the highest portion of any policy to date. But to do that it has to get through both the Maryland House and Governor Hogan.

The clawFR gets first UL certification, broader launch underway

PanelClaw announced the launch of its flat rooftop 10° clawFR solar module racking platform. The company reports an installation manual, autoCAD blocks, and that the racking solution is approved by UL to work with its first tranche of solar modules.
