CI Renewables has acquired, in its entirety, KDC Solar. The acquisition actually became effective in January 2020, but the pandemic and and desire to finalize the development of solar projects in Maryland, California, and Virginia caused the official announcement to be pushed back.

CI Renewables will continue KDC Solar’s operations, including pursuing the development of commercial and industrial solar and renewable projects in select U.S. markets. This includes the company’s pursuit of new solar development opportunities in MarylandVirginia and New Jersey.

According to the announcement, KDC Solar’s business practices will remain unchanged under CI Renewables, continuing to focus on providing clean energy solutions for companies and institutions with large and complex electric loads greater than 2 MWs, without requiring any capital investment from the customer.

The pulicizing of CI’s acquisition of KDC Solar comes just a week after CI announced financing has been secured for its 29 MW solar portfolio for Howard County, Maryland with CleanCapital. In the near future, the company will also announce the closing of financing for a 10 MW project in Madera, California.
