Maryland will become the 23rd U.S. state with a statewide community solar program offering subscription access to all residents.

Consisting of more than 2,000 panels, Dimmit Chevrolet’s solar system is expected to generate more than 1 GWh of electricity per year.

AEP’s Indiana Michigan Power will purchase power output from Sculpin Solar (180 MWac) in DeKalb County, Ind., under a 30-year PPA. The utility will also acquire 100% of the equity in Lake Trout Solar (245 MWac) in Blackford County, Ind.

The order marks the largest domestic community solar purchase of solar panels in U.S. history and includes  20 MWh of Qcells Geli energy storage systems

Qcells will supply 2.5 million solar panels under an agreement with developer Summit Ridge Energy which will generate enough clean power for 140,000 homes and businesses, including in underserved communities.

In the urban markets of the Bronx and Manhattan more than half the residents are designated as low-income or very-low income, giving rise to opportunities for LMI community solar and public charging accessibility.

Young adults are turning their attention to careers in environmental studies, including renewable energy development roles. 

Montana, dubbed the Big Sky Country state, ranks 30th in the country based on its abundant hydro and wind resources, but is ranked 44th based on solar energy output.

Two of the projects, Bolton Freeport Solar 1 (2.58 MW) and Freeport Fairview Solar 2 (2.58 MW), are located in ComEd service territory, and the third project, Danville Michigan Solar 1 (1.81 MW), is located in Ameren service territory in Danville, Ill.

To address its clean energy goals, Portland General Electric forecasts a significant power capacity of 1.14 GW in summer, 1 GW in winter, and up to 2.5 GW nameplate capacity clean energy assets by 2030.
