Nevada governor signs 50% RPS bill – Yesterday Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak (D) signed SB 358, which would require utilities to source 50% of their electricity from renewable energy by 2030, and set a goal for the state to generate enough electricity with zero-carbon sources to meet its own demand by 2050. Our take: This makes Nevada the 6th state-level jurisdiction (including Washington D.C.) to set a target to reach at least 50% renewable electricity by 2030 or sooner. Source: NV.gov.

 

LG Business Solutions names new VP of Marketing – “The company just named Garry Wicka as vice president of marketing for LG Business Solutions, LG Electronics USA’s growing business-to-business division that encompasses information displays and renewable energy technologies. He’s responsible for leading end-user insights, integrated brand and product marketing, digital marketing, creative development and agency management, trade shows and experiential marketing.” Source: LG

 

FERC Chair Chatterjee gets a new chief of staff – Neil Chatterjee has named energy lawyer and FERC veteran Maria Farinella as his chief of staff. “Farinella has worked in several senior positions at FERC, including as a senior attorney in the Office of the General Counsel’s Energy Markets Division from 2009-2011, and as a senior legal advisor in the Office of the General Counsel’s front office from 2011-2019. She also served as a legal advisor to Chairman Joseph Kelliher from 2007-2009.” Source: FERC

Bed Bath & Beyond installs a 500 kW Sunpower system at corporate office – “Over 21 Megawatts of SunPower Solar Installed and Operating Across 41 Bed Bath & Beyond Stores and Distribution Centers in America Since 2010.
