The company announced plans to double its EV charging exposure and intends to have 350 electric vehicle chargers at 90 branch locations.
Nextracker will now have a manufacturing line dedicated to producing steel tracker components for use in utility-scale solar power plants at Atkore’ Phoenix, Arizona facility, which has been expanded and reconfigured with new capacity dedicated to Nextracker products.
The partnership is set to launch in California this fall.
The capacity will be used to support Microsoft’s data centers in California and builds on an earlier supply agreement between the two companies in Virginia.
The deal expands the two companies’ supply agreements to over 3 GW and will enable Leeward to develop 18 new solar facilities in its 20 GW US solar development and construction pipeline through 2024.
The partnership will bring solar, battery storage, and EV charging solutions across Stream’s development pipeline of over 40 million square feet, equivalent to over 450 MW of on-site solar and battery storage projects.
The 7 MW installation is part of a larger 70 MW portfolio in Maine, purchased by Goldman Sachs in late 2021.
The facility will use state of the art low-carbon steel manufacturing to deliver multi-GW of solar tracker capacity annually.
The project employed more than 250 construction professionals during peak work and will will generate enough clean energy to power more than 25,000 residences.
First Solar’s second supply deal in as many days will see the company expand its partnership with Silicon Ranch with a commitment four times greater than all previous supply deals between the two combined.
