EnergyWakeup: Standard Solar’s Tony Clifford talks policy and business

Share

Few people have been more outspoken as advocates of the U.S. solar industry than Yann Brandt. This includes being one of the early voices calling for a campaign to extend the federal Investment Tax Credit, which ultimately succeeded at the end of 2015. But in addition to his advocacy and role as a solar executive at multiple companies, Brandt is also a media entrepreneur, including publishing the highly influential solar newsletter SolarWakeup.

Last December Brandt started a new podcast as part of SolarWakeup: EnergyWakeup. Today we are pleased to syndicate the fifth episode, in which Brandt interviews Standard Solar CEO Tony Clifford, who has spent decades fighting for better solar policy both through Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Maryland Delaware Virginia SEIA (MDV-SEIA).

In this interview Clifford talks about SEIA’s advocacy work and the recent change of leadership at the organization, Standard’s recent sale to Gaz Métro, and more.
