Shortly before the announcement of its acquisition by SunPower, SolarWorld’s former U.S. subsidiary commented on the request by its competitors to be exempt from the new U.S. solar PV import tariffs.

As part of the insolvency process of the U.S. solar cell and panel maker’s parent company, the Oregon factory is now for sale.

The ruling comes as the German solar manufacturer is restarting following an insolvency process, and Hemlock may have a hard time collecting.

Pioneering solar manufacturer SolarWorld AG is insolvent. It is unclear whether the company’s U.S. subsidiary must now file as well.

The German-American module maker shipped 382 MW in the first three months of this year. The company’s plan to focus on monocrystalline PERC products is being implemented according to schedule.

The German PV module maker has confirmed its financial results for 2016. The company reiterated its outlook, which forecasts that it will become profitable again in 2019.

Having warned it will miss its 2016 forecast, German solar firm SolarWorld publishes flat preliminary third quarter results that reveal slight fall in revenue. Shipments did grow Y-O-Y by 5%.

The German PV manufacturer announced that although it is set to achieve its shipment forecast for 2016, it is unlikely to meet its revenue and operating income forecasts for the year, and has already begun to point the finger at Chinese companies.
