SAINT BONNET DE MURE, 15TH JULY 2025 – As Europe advances toward climate neutrality by 2050, electromobility is key to the energy transition. Mersen supports this shift with components engineered for the demands of EVs and fast-charging systems. Designed for high-voltage and high-current use, Mersen high speed fuses, capacitors, cooling and laminated bus bars systems ensure compact, reliable, and efficient energy distribution.

Optimal handling of SiC electronics Mersen’s laminated bus bars offer a compact, low-inductance power distribution solution for EV drivetrains, battery modules, inverters, and charging systems. These custom interconnections reduce parasitic inductance and assembly complexity, improve thermal behavior, and boost reliability. Their multilayer design supports optimized routing, mechanical stability, and EMC in compact systems.

Designed for SiC power electronics, Mersen’s bus bars use advanced insulation materials like polyimide and polyaramide, ensuring resilience up to 180 °C – far above standard 105 °C – enabling reliable operation under extreme thermal loads in high-efficiency EV systems.

Reliable protection for battery modules

Mersen’s EVpack-fuses and M-fuses meet the load demands of electric and hybrid vehicles. They interrupt high DC fault currents with low let-through energy, protecting systems and passengers. Compliant with ISO 8820 and UL 248, they cover 100–1,000 VDC and up to 800 A. With breaking capacity under 2 kA, they match DC switchgear specs, ideal for battery packs and distribution units. Compact design and low I²t values support space-saving, high-performance protection.

High-Performance Thermal Management

Mersen’s vacuum-brazed, liquid-cooled cold plates ensure efficient thermal management for power modules in EVs, chargers, and inverters. Designed for high heat flux and seam-free watertightness, they offer better thermal conductivity and uniformity than conventional systems. The ECS LV100 MAXX platform lowers pressure loss and supports stable switching in silicon and SiC modules like LV100, XHPTM, and LV NHPD2. Custom-fit to module footprints, these cold plates meet strict thermal limits while enabling compact, high-density designs.

The optimum battery assembly solution

Mersen’s Infinicell is a standardized, scalable platform for EV battery cell connections. Each module integrates prismatic cells, laminated bus bars, liquid cooling, and EVpack fuses into a plug-and-play unit for high-voltage systems.

A laser bonder interface enables robust, high-speed cell-to-bus-bar-bonding – over four times faster than wire or ribbon bonding. With built-in safety and cost-optimized design, Infinicell offers OEMs a reliable, scalable battery solution with faster production throughput.

With deep expertise in power electronics, thermal management, and protection, Mersen drives the next generation of electric mobility. Its compact, reliable, high-performance solutions help OEMs and infrastructure providers build a cleaner, electrified future.
