CleanChoice Energy, a renewable energy company providing 100% clean electricity to customers across the country, announced it has opened a Manhattan office to develop new solar software and clean technological innovations. The new office, located in New York City’s “Silicon Alley” and based out of Grand Central Tech’s Hub, will focus on the deliverables of a $2.5 million cooperative award from the U.S. Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative. This is CleanChoice Energy’s—one of the country’s fastest growing companies—second major expansion of 2017 and the company now has staff in Washington D.C., New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

“Technology is the key to bringing clean energy to 100% of Americans. For example, community solar could reach nearly 60 percent of prospective utility customers across America, regardless of whether or not they have a roof suitable to install solar panels,” said Tom Matzzie, Founder and CEO of CleanChoice Energy. “Our goal is to bring clean energy to the millions of Americans who are unable to access it today—and our New York office will play a major part in reaching that goal.”
The CleanChoice “Energy Labs” team will be based in the New York City office. CleanChoice has found success driving down customer acquisition costs and making it easy for energy customers to go green. The Energy Labs team is focused on building on that success and bringing community solar to scale by digitizing the customer journey and creating simple, cost-effective customer engagement. CleanChoice Energy Labs will build infrastructure that will expand customer access through software modules, tools, and platforms built on the latest technology and extendable across CleanChoice’s renewable products. The new office is part of CleanChoice Energy’s push to create expanded renewable energy choice for more Americans.

Consumers want renewable electricity, but they want it convenient and fast. As one of the first licensed retail energy providers offering only 100 percent renewable energy products to American homes and businesses, CleanChoice Energy has made it as easy as possible for people to choose clean energy as-a-service instead of as a home construction project. The company has served more than 1 billion kilowatts of clean energy to customers in nine states since 2013. Recently, CleanChoice was named as a Best for the World company for their social and environmental performance.
