Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, announced it supplied 1500 Vdc string inverters to a 28 MWdc commercial and industrial solar project in Washington. Reportedly the largest PV plant in this state to date, this project has been successfully grid-connected in November as expected.

The project, a commercial and industrial solar facility, will generate 48 GWh annually, powering more than 4000 households. The large site location in Adams, Washington is in an area with a considerably sunnier climate compared to the rest of the state.

The PV inverters utilized in this project feature a high capacity of 125kW, allowing up to a 5 MW power block design with a virtual central solution. Resilience to the extreme conditions, makes this popular product suitable for the harsh winter in Washington State. October has also witnessed another installation of this 1500Vdc string inverter in US market, a 21 MW Rhode Island PV plant and also the largest utility-scale solar project in the state.

Construction contractor Swinerton Renewable Energy is a turnkey solution provider with over 3 GW commissioned and applications across America and abroad, known for offering superior O&M service. “The solar industry has grown tremendously in Washington over the past year.
