Rally to save Connecticut solar jobs

Share

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Connecticut Capitol Building, policymakers, solar advocates, and solar workers will hold a rally, with media availability during the event and to follow.

We are rallying together to encourage state lawmakers to fix Senate Bill 9, the Governor’s clean energy omnibus bill, which currently endangers solar energy jobs despite its intent to expand our state’s clean energy goals. At stake is the fate of the over 2,000 solar jobs in the state.

Over 50 solar workers from 11 companies are RSVPed for the rally at present, along with Representative Lonnie Reed who has agreed to try and help amend this bill. Workers will rally with “Save Solar Jobs” t-shirts, banners, signs and solar hard hats and tool belts. After the rally with speakers, dozens of solar workers from around the state plan to enter the capitol building to make their case directly to legislators – there are only a few weeks left before the fate of Connecticut’s 2,000+ solar jobs is decided.
