ASHEVILLE, NC., APRIL 23rd, 2026 – Pisgah Energy, a commercial solar design-build service provider, completed the installation of  rooftop solar PV systems across 6 buildings for AAR’s Airframe MRO – Greensboro facility at PTI International Airport. These systems, totaling 4.6MWdc and harnessing the power of 7,770 QCells 590W panels and 25 SolarEdge inverters, will serve as on-site electrical generation and produce over 5,900MWh of clean, renewable energy annually. Every year in operation, these solar arrays will offset approximately 2,000 metric tons of CO2e. The impact of these systems is equivalent to removing the air pollution produced by over 5,093,119 miles of driving an average gasoline powered vehicle or recycling instead of landfilling 707 tons of waste or the annual energy usage of 269 homes.

It was an honor supporting AAR’s efforts to make a significant and positive impact on their carbon footprint. The Greensboro staff was highly engaged throughout the process and made building our largest project to date feel relatively easy,’ notes Evan Becka, Pisgah Energy’s President and Senior Project Developer, “What’s more, collectively, these systems represent Guilford County’s largest rooftop solar installation. As a Greensboro native, it’s a real point of pride for my company to have played a part in that achievement.”

“Completing a large commercial solar project at a busy airport is no easy feat. The Pisgah Energy team met this challenge with innovative ideas that maximized solar production while remaining on schedule and under budget. The solar panel system enables AAR to offset carbon emissions, power our facility, and return excess energy to the grid. We are grateful for Pisgah Energy’s expertise and collaboration on this sustainability-driven project,” said Brett Houser, Director of EHS at AAR’s Airframe MRO – Greensboro location.
