The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) today announced the appointment of David Rusch to its Board of Directors. Mr. Rusch retired as School Principal/Teacher from the Venice Lutheran School in Venice, CA in 2014, having served in those roles since 1983. Mr. Rusch’s appointment expands NABCEP’s Board of Directors to 16 members, and he will serve from 2017-2020.

Born in Wisconsin, Mr. Rusch worked primarily in the educational field in California, where he and his wife raised three children. As School Principal, he was responsible for marketing, recruitment, staff hiring and supervision, financial planning, bookkeeping, facilities maintenance and improvements, and program oversight. Mr. Rusch plans to add his skills and abilities to NABCEP’s already talent-filled Board of Directors.

Mr. Rusch currently serves on the Board of the non-profit organization California Solar Citizens, founded to promote the expansion of rooftop solar energy. He has been interested in conserving our planet’s natural resources and maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment since his young adulthood. Serving on NABCEP’s Board of Directors gives Mr. Rusch the opportunity to positively influence the renewable energy industry by working on credential and certification programs that have been recognized as the gold standard for solar professionals. “It is important to consumers to be confident that the professionals who design and install renewable energy systems are both competent and trustworthy,” says Mr. Rusch.
