ENGIE Subsidiary OpTerra Energy Services Expands Sacramento Presence with New Downtown Office

OpTerra Energy Services, a division of the global energy services corporation ENGIE, has expanded its Sacramento presence to spur the advancement of regional sustainability efforts through renewable energy, energy efficiency, and power reliability projects for clients in the public and private sectors. With its new office in Downtown Sacramento – one of the firm’s 26 U.S. locations – OpTerra solidifies its commitment to helping to enhance the Sacramento economy and workforce with a local, dedicated team of energy experts.

With regional customers including the City of Grass ValleyCity of Yuba CitySutter County, and Yuba County, OpTerra brings its 40-year history of leadership in the energy sector to counties throughout California. Helping customers achieve millions in energy savings through comprehensive project development, OpTerra leverages the local team’s engineering experience to design, develop, and build energy projects that save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, generate local jobs, and build positive impact for communities throughout the area.

The team has experience implementing a broad suite of technology solutions, including LED street lighting, HVAC upgrades, water conservation measures, solar power, and battery storage, and also provides post-construction maintenance, monitoring, and guaranteed energy savings services in Sacramento. A unique focus of OpTerra’s public sector work is centered on integrating direct community engagement and K-12 STEM education opportunities into the scope of large-scale energy technology upgrades. Through professional development for teachers, hands-on community science fairs, and internships for high school and college students, OpTerra worked with over 11,000 students in 2015 to prepare the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and makers, to join the sustainable energy economy.
