FREMONT, Calif., June 25, 2025 – Trinasolar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, proudly announces the donation of more than 300 high-efficiency n-type TOPCon solar modules to YouthBuild Global as part of its Solar Jobs Pathway Initiative. This contribution underscores Trinasolar’s ongoing commitment to community development and empowering youth through sustainable energy education and job training.

Trinasolar’s high-powered n-type TOPCon modules will be used in solar installation training labs at sites across the United States to educate YouthBuild trainees about installing two widely used PV mounting systems and provide hands-on experience critical for careers in solar installation. A portion of the modules will be installed on an affordable housing unit built by YouthBuild trainees at YouthBuild Lake County in North Chicago, Illinois, to help offset utility costs for a low-income family. The remaining portion of modules will be installed on the roof of the CLC, Inc. YouthBuild building in Fort Worth, Texas, to help offset a majority, if not all, of the facility’s utility costs, which will allow more resources to be allocated toward trainee support and program expansion.

“This donation is more than just solar panels – it’s about creating opportunities for our future leaders,” said Eric Cao, Vice President of Trinasolar North American PV Business. “It’s important to help future generations gain real skills that will power their careers, and their communities, for years to come. Trinasolar is proud to partner with YouthBuild Global in support of this initiative.”

As headquarters for the YouthBuild movement, YouthBuild Global unifies and partners with an expansive network of YouthBuild programs around the world, championing opportunity youth as they achieve their ambitions and reach their full potential. In YouthBuild programs, young people who are out of school and out of work reclaim their education, gain job skills and credentials, and become leaders in their communities. YouthBuild Global’s Solar Jobs Pathway Initiative focuses on training young people in solar installation skills and providing them with credentials that prepare them for meaningful careers in the growing renewable energy sector. By equipping trainees with experience on universal mounting systems, YouthBuild programs ensure participants are ready to work with a variety of solar technologies upon entering the workforce.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Trina for this generous donation. It is a game-changer for our programs and the young people we serve,” said John Valverde, president and CEO of YouthBuild Global. “It means more hands-on training, more real-world experience, and more opportunities for our next generation to build a future for themselves and their communities.”

The Solar Jobs Pathway Initiative is expanding rapidly, with plans to install solar panels at more program sites to reduce operating costs and provide affordable solar energy solutions to new homeowners.
