RFQ alert: NYPA looks to pre-qualify developers and investors for renewable projects

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to pre-qualify renewable development companies and investors who are interested in collaborating with the NYPA on developing solar, wind, battery storage, green hydrogen, geothermal, and renewable-related transmission.

New York is on a path to achieving a zero-emission electricity sector by 2040, including 70% renewable energy generation by 2030, and economywide carbon neutrality by mid-century.

“The Power Authority is taking significant steps to move the development of renewable power generation forward in New York State. We expect responses to this RFQ to facilitate the creation of a stable of pre-qualified firms that NYPA can collaborate with quickly to scale renewable generation and advance the State’s nation-leading clean energy goals.”

Based on the RFQ responses, NYPA will pre-qualify respondents for up to five years. NYPA anticipates inviting qualified respondents to respond to future Requests for Proposals, which will provide an opportunity to submit complete project proposals, including terms and costs.

The deadline for responses to this RFQ is Tuesday, April 9, 2024. NYPA expects to inform respondents on whether they have been pre-qualified for collaborations with NYPA by the end of May 2024. Responses to the RFQ should be sent to nypa.bids@nypa.gov
