“With RE+24, we feel we reached a new level of interactivity, engagement and relevance for our audiences,” said Stephen Miner, President & CEO, RE+ Events. “Our goal was to offer the depth and breadth of education our stakeholders rely on for up-to-the-minute topics, combined with an impressive range of networking opportunities.”
RE+24 opened with “RE+ Today – From Our Kitchen Tables to the Grid” – Padma Lakshmi, Emmy Award-nominated Host and Executive Producer of Hulu’s Taste the Nation and Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program – hosted a “morning show” with a panel discussing how to best ensure communities have access to clean, safe, and resilient power. Unique perspectives include Suzy Macke, a line worker for Duke Energy; Cody Two Bears, a leader in the tribal energy space; Dan Shugar, CEO, Nextracker
Special programs and exhibits included the Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) Final. This event united high school students from four continents to race mini-fuel cell-powered hydrogen cars. A special presentation was made to Schwarzenegger Institute Environmental Policy Director (and former California State Senator) Fran Pavley.
Another especially popular attraction – the American Solar Grazing Association (ASGA) in partnership with RE+ – presented the Agrivoltaics Showcase (complete with “solar sheep”) to demonstrate “solar grazing” – the art of raising sheep under solar panels to control vegetation.
