The New York Solar Energy Industries Association, the only statewide trade association dedicated to advancing solar energy use in New York State, today announced Suzanne Maloney as the organization’s new Executive Director. NYSEIA has also named Dan Hendrick as President of its Board of Directors.
Ms. Maloney has served as the Statewide Director for the State Employees Federated Appeal, where she successfully implemented regulation changes and worked to develop the Statewide Council into an authority. She has served as the executive director for the Environmental Business Association of New York State, The Nursery and Landscape Association and The Invasive Plant Council of New York State. She brings years of association and board development as well as successful fundraising, event management and increased member benefits. “I’m eager to begin work with the Board of Directors and the membership to grow NYSEIA and to work more closely with state leadership to smooth the way for solar in New York State” Ms. Maloney.
In addition, Dan Hendrick was unanimously elected as President of NYSEIA’s Board of Directors. Mr. Hendrick is Director of External Affairs at NRG Energy, where he oversees government relations for the Northeast. Prior to joining NRG, he was Vice President for External Affairs at the New York League of Conservation Voters, a statewide environmental advocacy organization. Dan replaces Rob Garrity of Borrego Solar in the position of President; Mr. Garrity will remain on the Board of Directors.
