Nuance Energy, manufacturer of the patent-pending Osprey PowerPlatform® and developer of distributed generation solar projects through its AgWell Solar® division, today announced it has received certification for conformance with the Underwriters Laboratories 2703 standard for mounting photovoltaic modules and panels. Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, performed the independent testing needed to receive ETL-Listed compliance with the UL 2703 standard.

UL 2703 is the Standard for Mounting Systems, Mounting Devices, Clamping/Retention Devices, and Ground Lugs for Use with Flat-Plate Photovoltaic Modules and Panels. Certified conformance enables the racking and ground mount foundation to provide the electrical grounding and bonding for solar modules certified under the UL 1703 Standard for Flat-Plate Photovoltaic Modules and Panels, eliminating the need to install separate ground wiring and rods. For the Osprey PowerPlatform, the connecting cable or rod used in the earth anchor foundation system is what provides the electrical grounding for the array.

“The Osprey PowerPlatform already enjoys the advantage of being the industry’s easiest to install ground mount foundation and racking system, and UL 2703 certification will further simplify the installation effort,” said Jono Stevens, Nuance Energy’s co-founder and Executive Vice President. “Running the wires for the DC and AC connections is also simplified by the Osprey’s design, which makes the wiring channels an integral part of the framework.”
