For the first time in the history of Military Makeover, the award-winning home improvement show airing on Lifetime® TV, one family is receiving a complete renovation of its home to include solar panels designed, engineered, and assembled by Mission Solar Energy.
“San Antonio is known as Military City USA, and since we are headquartered here and have several veterans who are part of our company, we are proud to be part of these special episodes,” said Jae Yang, President & CEO of Mission Solar Energy. “It’s extremely rewarding to give back to a family who has given so much, and they will continue to do so by creating a cleaner environment while saving money on their electricity bill.”
Two members of Mission Solar Energy’s team recently traveled to Independence, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City, as filming and work on the rooftop installation began. Power Home Solar, a leading residential provider of solar energy systems in five U.S. markets, connected 28 high-powered solar panels from right here in the USA, at Mission Solar Energy’s facility, on the roof of the Harrison family’s home.
“This was certainly an exciting first for us on the show! Having a solar solution for the Harrison family will provide them with financial savings while creating a positive environmental impact,” said Scott Moss, Executive Vice President of Programming.
Some upcoming episodes of Military Makeover will showcase the home renovation that was completed for the Harrison family.  Casey Harrison, who served as an Army Sergeant and was the lead driver of his unit’s convoy team, suffered multiple head injuries and hearing loss.
Military Makeover offers hope and a helping hand on home improvements for veterans, wounded warriors, and military families who have been relocated. The mini-series enlists designers, decorators, landscapers, and other experts to assist with the renovation.
“Participating in the project was truly special and meant a lot to me,” said Tabish Khan, Sales Operations Manager at Mission Solar Energy and a former airman who served five years in the U.S. Air Force. “There is a unique bond among veterans, and the opportunity to improve the life of a fellow veteran as part of my job at Mission Solar will go down as one of my proudest professional experiences.”
