Now taking nominations across seven awards, the inaugural North American Agrivoltaics Awards (NAAA) will recognize outstanding achievements in the advancement of dual-use solar development across the continent during a dedicated ceremony taking place the evening of July 8 in Chicago. Held during opening night of the 2024 Solar Farm Summit, North America’s Agrivoltaics Expo, the NAAA is co-hosted in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Lab, American Farmland Trust, AgriSolar Clearinghouse, and the American Solar Grazing Association to identify, elevate and celebrate excellence in multifunctional solar farming.
Nominations are now open for individuals, projects, and (submitted) plans that have demonstrated excellence in the planning, implementation and execution of agrivoltaics — including growing crops, grazing animals, and/or advanced conservation (ecovoltaics) — through Friday April 19, 2024 at midnight (Hawaii–Aleutian time).
Following the nomination period, the selection process will proceed as follows:
· April 20 – 30: The host committee will review nominations and select finalists.
· May 1 – June 21: Public voting will take place to determine the ultimate winners.
· July 8: Winners will be announced and honored on stage during the North American Agrivoltaics Awards Ceremony & Reception, held at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel.
This exclusive event being held during the 2024 Solar Farm Summit, with limited seating and separately ticketed admission, promises an evening of celebration and networking with industry leaders and innovators. Tickets to attend the NAAA ceremony are available on Eventbrite.
