Explore Austin High’s rooftop solar array

Share

WHAT:  After one too many rainy weekends, we’ve rescheduled our rooftop solar tour at Austin High.

Austin schools aren’t sitting by idly while the planet cooks. Students, parents, and staff are taking action, and powering their schools with clean, renewable, energy.

Environment Texas will host a tour of Austin High School’s rooftop solar array. We’ll get up on the roof and hear from students, parents, and solar specialists on why they support solar energy and its role in building a brighter future for us all. With solar on 44 of its 130 schools, AISD is a clean energy leader. We’ll discuss the progress AISD has made since receiving a $10 million bond in 2013 for school-top solar.

Small groups will take turns touring the solar array itself. The contractors for the array will be available to answer questions. Snacks will be served.

WHEN: Saturday, December 15th, 2018 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

WHERE: Austin High, 1715 Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78703. Once you get to Austin High, look for our Solar Adventure signs, park in one of Austin High’s lots, and make your way to the outdoor shindig where you’ll meet our Clean Energy Team.
