CohnReznick Announces Promotions to Partner/Principal

CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firms in the United States, has announced the appointment of 12 professionals to its partnership, effective February 1, 2017.

Cindy Fang, CPA, is a partner and leads the Firm’s Tax Credit Investment Services (TCIS) Group, which specializes in providing investment due diligence and other advisory services to institutional investors to help them strategically acquire and manage tax credit investments. Cindy has a broad range of experience serving investor, syndicator, developer, and housing finance agency clients involved in tax credit transactions. She is well-versed in all realms of major investment tax credits, including the low-income housing tax credit, historic, new markets, and renewable energy tax credits. Based in the Firm’s Boston, MA office, she holds a Bachelor of Arts, Literature from Peking University, a Master of Public Management from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science, Taxation from Northeastern University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and CREW Boston.

Henrietta Fuchs, CPA, is a partner and co-leads the Firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Practice for the Roseland office. A member of the Public Company Audit Practice and Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice, Henrietta provides review, auditing, and financial statement preparation services in various industries. She delivers a wide variety of accounting and audit advisory services to both publicly traded and privately held companies, including auditing employee benefit plans for the Firm’s clients. She was recognized among the 2012 and 2016 “Women of Note” by the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Based in the Firm’s Roseland, NJ office, Henrietta holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting and a Master of Science, Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (Student Programs and Scholarship Committee).

Brian Gershen, CPA, is a partner and works with closely-held businesses assisting owners to maximize their cash flows through year-round consulting and tax planning. In addition to his specialization with closely-held businesses, Brian has extensive experience working with clients across multiple industries, including hospitality, professional services, and real estate. A certified public accountant in Maryland and Virginia, he serves as an instructor for individual taxation training and management skills training for the Firm. Based in the Firm’s Bethesda, MD office, Brian holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Shellie M. Gifford, CPA, is a partner with public accounting experience that encompasses audit and other relevant accounting services. Shellie has provided accounting services for a variety of clients in the real estate industry as well as governmental clients. These services range from financial statement audits, the evaluation of internal controls, keeping clients updated on government required standards, and various agreed upon procedures engagements. Shellie provides services to developers and owners of affordable housing, syndicators, investors, and property management companies. Based in the Firm’s Atlanta, GA office, Shellie holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Ryan J. Holbert, CPA, is a partner in CohnReznick’s Tax Practice. With 18 years of public accounting experience, he is responsible for providing income tax compliance, income tax planning, and business consulting services to a wide variety of clients that include renewable energy developers, real estate developers, real estate syndicators, construction companies, management companies, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations. He has been an integral part of the Firm’s Renewable Energy Industry Practice for tax compliance and tax planning including but not limited to general compliance, tax provisions, assisting audit with HLBV accounting analysis, and tax allocations dealing with the 1603 Grant Income and Investment Tax Credits. Based in the Firm’s Atlanta, GA office, Ryan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from Florida State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jennifer A. Krahling, CPA, is a partner and member of the Firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Practice. With more than 17 years of diversified accounting, consulting, and tax experience, she specializes in tax and consulting services for a variety of multinational and multistate companies. Her areas of expertise include tax planning and compliance for corporations and partnerships, and she has extensive experience working with companies in the manufacturing and distribution industries. She also has developed a significant understanding of the law firm industry. Based in the Firm’s Eatontown, NJ office, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Science, Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and New Jersey Food Processors Association.

James T. LaCroix, CPA, is a partner and member of the Firm’s Healthcare Industry Practice. With 16 years of public accounting experience, he specializes in providing audit and tax services to organizations including Federally Qualified Health Centers, skilled nursing facilities, and other human service organizations. His healthcare audit experience also includes acute care hospitals and continuing care retirement communities. He has extensive experience auditing areas specific to healthcare organizations, such as patient service revenue and receivables, contractual allowances, and medical malpractice, as well as auditing compliance in accordance with Uniform Guidance. Based in the Firm’s Hartford, CT office, James holds a Bachelor of Science, Finance from Fairfield University and a Master of Science Accountancy from University of Notre Dame. He is a member of theConnecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Andrew R. Lines, MAI, is a principal in CohnReznick Advisory specializing in providing valuation advisory services. He performs valuations on a wide variety of real estate property types, including residential (including LIHTC), commercial, industrial, and special purpose properties, such as landfills, waste transfer stations, marinas, hospitals, universities, self-storage facilities, racetracks, CCRCs, and railroad corridors. He is experienced in the valuation of leasehold, leased fee, and partial interests and performs appraisals for all purposes including financial reporting, litigation, and gift/estate planning. Andrew is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the States of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland, Georgia, New York, and New Jersey. Based in the Firm’s Chicago, IL office, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and is a Syracuse University Regional Council member.

Rocco Marotti Jr., CPA, is a partner and member of the Firm’s Law Firm Industry Practice and Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice. With more than 20 years of diversified public accounting, consulting, and tax experience, Rocco focuses on serving law practices and individual attorneys. In addition to performing audits and reviews of law firm financial statements, Rocco audits law firm employee benefit plans. He has extensive experience working with clients that are subject to ERISA and DOL reporting requirements, including 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and health and welfare plans. Based in the Firm’s Eatontown, NJ office, Rocco holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from Rutgers University. Pasquale Patrone, CPA, is a partner and member the Firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Practice, Retail and Consumer Products Industry Practice, and Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice. He has more than 20 years of experience serving the accounting business and financial needs of private and public companies. During his career, he has provided a variety of business advisory and assurance services to his clients to ensure strong operations and growth.  These services included, but were not limited to, budgeting, forecasting, due diligence, business process analysis, and tax planning. Based in the Firm’s New York, NY office, Pasquale holds a Bachelor of Arts, Public Accounting from Pace University. He serves as Treasurer for both the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and 475-Esquire-Toppers. He is a member of theAmerican Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Robert Richardt, CPA, is a partner and member of the Firm’s Financial Services Industry Practice. Rob specializes in the investment management industry where he serves both offshore and domestic investment entities, including hedge funds; private equity funds; venture capital entities, as well as the management entities; and high-net-worth individuals. Prior to joining the Firm, Rob worked for a large investment bank, as well as a regional accounting firm where he worked with middle market clients in a variety of industries. Based in the Firm’s New York, NY office, Rob holds a Bachelor of Science, Social Science from Stony Brook University as well as Master of Science, Accounting and Master of Science, Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Wall Street Tax Association.

Richard Shevak, JD, is a principal in CohnReznick’s National Tax Practice, and heads the Firm’s tax fixed asset and accounting methods practice. With nearly 15 years of diversified public accounting and government experience, he has extensive experience in providing tax services for clients in the real estate, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and technology industries. Richard’s expertise includes tax planning, consulting, and IRS examination support. Richard has authored or co-authored articles published for Tax Advisor, The Tax Executive, and the National Association of Manufacturers, and has spoken for numerous industry organizations. Based in the Firm’s Roseland, NJ office, Richard holds a Bachelor of Science, Aeronautics from Dowling College and Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Bar Association (Tax Accounting Committee and Capital Cost Recovery and Leasing Committee).
