MILWAUKEE, WI (May 5, 2025) – Briggs & Stratton has introduced a Dual 200 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) to comply with NEC 2023 standards, which require separate compartments for breakers. The new model, 071257, is the only ATS of its kind that’s currently available on the market.

As of February 1, 17 states have adopted NEC 2023 and NEC 2020 is in effect in 21 states. The updated Dual 200 Amp ATS from Briggs & Stratton allows the switch to handle two different amperage ratings, providing optimal power management for diverse appliance loads. It has separate compartments with dividers and independent deadfronts and a New TRCM+ control board that replaces the ACCM control board.

In addition, the Dual 200 Amp ATS is easier to install with redesigned wiring, including updated wire harnesses, transfer wires and routing to reduce time and labor costs. Symphony® Choice power management is included, allowing customers to prioritize up to eight high-wattage appliances, like air conditioning units, electric stoves and dryers, to ensure they have the power they need.

Last year, Briggs & Stratton introduced three new PowerProtect™ home standby generators –13kW that are powered by the company’s commercial-grade Vanguard engine. The new models join the company’s 26kW, which is the most powerful home standby generator available. In addition to a standard seven-year warranty, Briggs & Stratton dealers offer a comprehensive 10-year warranty that covers parts, labor and technician travel.

¹ This generator is rated in accordance with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) 2200 (stationary engine generator assemblies) and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standard C22.2 No. 100-14 (motor and generators).
