Ampacity, a California-based solar distributor and installation solutions provider, has expanded its menu of installation training options for customers it supplies with structural solar products.

The company, which provides single-axis trackers from Nextpower and Array Technologies to EPCs and developers in the small to medium-scale utility solar market, says its training services can provide knowledge about the full lifespan of a solar project, from construction to long-term quality assurance.

Training typically includes onsite job-specific teaching, and lasts for between one and five days. Instruction can be executed in stages or all at once, and covers a range of practical field skills in addition to teaching best practices and performing QA/QC checks.

The menu of available training options includes:

  • Demo row builds
  • Site management training
  • Pre-kitting training
  • Foundation installation training
  • Mechanical installation training (Golden Row)
  • Operations & maintenance training
  • Quality Scorecards

“Ampacity differentiates itself through the depth, quality and practicality of the training we provide to our clients and partners,” said Ampacity workforce development manager Keith DeCarlo in comments to pv magazine USA. “We guide our partners through manufacturer installation requirements, construction drawings and key technical documentation… provide hands-on, in-field support (and) proactively identify and address common pitfalls that can lead to costly delays, helping teams avoid preventable mistakes before they impact progress. When challenges do arise, we leverage our collective expertise to collaborate with our partners and develop practical, effective solutions that keep projects on track.”

Ampacity’s customer success services teams provide the training to customers throughout the U.S., and have also worked on projects in Canada. The company’s headquarters is located in Monterey, California, and it operates distribution hubs in Iowa, Mississippi and Kentucky to provide structural products and electrical equipment to customers nationwide.

In addition to its EPC and developer support services, Ampacity also provides installation subcontracting and other turnkey services.
